TOPIC - 'PEOPLE AT WORK' THE GARDAÍ

There was great excitement on Tuesday when the Guards came to visit us in Senior Infants.

  • We got to go in the jail van, which was scary.
  • We sat in the squad car with the blue light flashing.
  • We now really know how important it is to wear a seat belt.
  • We learned how to walk safely on the footpath.
  • We understand how important it is to wear helmets when riding our bikes.
  • We also know we must wear reflective clothing

Happy Easter!
As well as hearing all about the Easter story, we have been busy making Easter nests.
We decorated Easter eggs with stickers and glitter and built a nest with paper, chicks and our eggs!
Hello !
Walk for Water Day
Look what we did today.
We had to walk around the yard carrying water bottles. This was to help us understand how people in other parts of the world get their water.

Walking for Water!

We walked around the playground carrying water bottles. This was to help us understand that in some parts of the world, people do have to walk to collect water.

Look at the clip on this link to see. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4V-KoJGGJ4s

Science Topic - Planting Seeds

Top picture - No light or water      Bottom picture - No light
At the start of out topic we planted one sunflower
- without water or light
- another with water but no light.
We were surprised to see the plant with no water or light, grow a tiny bit.
We were amazed to see the sunflower that had water but no light grow really well - BUT it was not green at all!

Plants need sunlight!
